Python Platform Modernization: PostgreSQL & Structured Logging
Modernized parts of an existing Python platform through PostgreSQL integration, structured logging, compatibility work, and deployment validation.
Project Overview
Modernized parts of an existing Python platform through PostgreSQL integration, structured logging, compatibility work, and deployment validation. I implemented a logging layer that preserved existing imports, added redaction and log lifecycle controls, and supported a database change with dry-run checks and post-deployment verification. The client confirmed the resulting database objects and accepted the logging delivery. The visuals summarize my work without exposing client source code.
Project walkthrough

The Challenge
An existing Python platform needed database and logging improvements while preserving compatibility with its established modules.
Our Solution
Implemented structured logging with a compatibility layer, redaction, rotation, and retention. Supported PostgreSQL changes through supplied SQL corrections, dry-run checks, and post-deployment verification.
The Results
The client confirmed the resulting database objects and accepted the logging delivery. This case covers those components, without implying that every later platform or rollout task was completed.
